ULTRASOUNDS

In recent years, ultrasound technology has improved veterinary diagnostics in many ways. An abdominal ultrasound offers the trained eye a glimpse of the shape, size and appearance of the liver, kidneys, intestines, urinary bladder, and more. A cardiac ultrasound takes you on a revealing trip through the inside of the heart, rendering everything from valves to blood flow.

Hardly a day goes by that the ultrasound is not used as a critical part of the diagnostic plan. An ultrasound study can not only painlessly evaluate the heart or changes to the organs in the abdomen. It can be used to visualize your needle as you obtain tissue samples for cytology or removal of free fluid. The list of its uses and the patients that have benefited from the information provided, continues to grow each day. Ultrasound usage has dramatically decreased the cost and time to get to a diagnosis. But most importantly, it has decreased the time that a patient is sick.
