Alongside the excellent medical and surgical services offered at SECAH, we maintain a large boarding area for both dogs and cats in the back end of the building.

There are 10 runs available to canine boarders in two different sizes: 4 medium and 6 large. The floor of the runs consist of three netted grates, which allow the run to stay cleaner in that most anything can be rinsed through the grate for a quick easy cleanup.
In addition to the runs, there are 12 cages available to board canines: 3 small, 4 medium, 4 large, and 1 extra large cage. All dogs are walked twice daily, whereas many boarding facilities will keep animals in their cages 24 hours a day until the cage is dirty. The walking area is a large, fenced-in area behind the hospital which is visible from the parking lot…all dogs are walked on a leash unless an owner chooses to let their dog run, in which case they must sign a release form in case of an accidental escape (which is highly unlikely). The outdoor area also allows the animals to exercise, enjoy the sunshine, and maintain house-training. Some owners may even choose to pay an extra fee to give their animal extra playtime each day. There are 7 cages available to our feline boarders: 5 small cages and 2 larger ones. The cat boarding area is separate from dog boarding and is a much quieter place with a large window to create a warmer, brighter room. Owners are certainly allowed to bring their own food for any of their pets, but we will provide standard Hill’s Science Diet Adult Maintenance (typically dry with a little canned food on top) should the owner choose not to bring in their own food. Any medication that needs to be administered will be taken care of by our staff (a small extra fee may be assessed for medication administration).
Your pet’s health is our highest concern, which is why the sick animals are in a completely separate area than the boarders that we care for. We do our very best to accommodate any special requests that you may have in order to help make your pets’ stay as pleasurable as possible. Boarding can also be a wonderful opportunity for you and your pet to take advantage of our newly developed canine/feline wellness programs that are especially designed to take care of your pet’s basic annual needs at a discounted price. We also offer baths; if you would like to have your animal bathed while boarding with us, please let the receptionist know when you make your boarding appointment. Baths are done Monday through Friday. If your pet is going home on a Saturday or Sunday, they will be bathed on Friday.
It is our sincere hope that we can offer your pet a wonderful boarding experience, as well as giving you peace of mind that your pet is being well taken care of while you are away. Anytime you would like to check on your animal while they are here boarding with us, please do not hesitate to call. We want you to feel as comfortable as possible with our boarding services…please feel free to stop by and take a tour of our boarding facility. If you would like to get pricing information or make a boarding reservation, please call us at 674-1002.
We offer No charge baths to all dogs that are boarding 5 nights or longer and 1/2 price baths to boarders who are here less than 5 nights.
We want you to be as comfortable as possible with your pet boarding with us. We are happy to offer daily updates through texting or email so that you will know how your pet is doing while you are away. Please let the receptionist know at check in if this is something that you are interested in.
